Program Overview
In 2003, the city and county of Denver, Colorado conducted a pilot study to assess the benefits of the TRT™ Program for reducing costs of treatment of employee musculoskeletal workers’ compensation injuries.
- The cost of treatment was reduced by 66% from an average historic cost per claim of $2,379 for traditional treatment to $810 per claim for TRT™ treatment.
- Employee lost time from work was reduced by 89% from an average of 88.4 hours per traditional claim to 8.0 hours per TRT™ claim.
- The average duration of an open claim was reduced by 68% from 35.5 weeks to 11.5 weeks.
- Total estimated savings on the treatment of 34 employees was $53,346 in direct treatment costs and an estimated $39,916 in employee lost time from work for a total program savings of $93,262.
